AdHocBox provides an easy and quick way to share files between different Dropbox accounts.
You can use your iPhone to exchange shared files (shareable links) from your Dropbox on an "ad hoc" basis between iPhone clients in the same WLAN.
- Offer files from your Dropbox to be shared on the WLAN
- Download shared files directly from other dropbox accounts to your iPhone.
- Upload these files on demand to your own linked dropbox or access the downloaded files later within iTunes from the download cache.
AdHocBox integrates with Dropbox using the proven and secure Dropbox authentication mechanisms based on OAuth. You only authenticate to Dropbox and authorize the AdHocBox app. No need to store or exchange any credential!
The discovery of the "Ad Hoc Box" service leverages the Bonjour protocol and works automatically for all clients using the same WiFi.
Tip: If you have an iPhone 4 or later just setup a personal Hotspot to restrict access to your shared files.
